Fathers Building Up Children and Community
 During Fatherhood Awareness Month, we reflect on the ways that fathers help shape the lives of children and the strength of our neighborhoods. The more involved fathers are in their communities, the more their impact ripples out from their families throughout society. If you’ve ever wondered why fathers matter, how their community involvement makes a difference, or what are some simple steps fathers can take at home and in their neighborhoods, check out this article.

 Join our free weekly workshops each Tuesday in June from 12:30-1:30 p.m. to connect with other fathers, father figures, and professionals who work with fathers. Share resources, talk about challenges, mental and physical health, parenting and relationship skills, and access to community resources!

Free Summer Parenting Classes
Our Parenting Education Programs are offering classes for parents and caregivers with children of all ages beginning this month. You'll discuss common parenting challenges, better understand developmental stages (0-18 years), and strengthen parent-child relationships, all while building a strong, supportive network. County staff can submit a family enrollment form for a referral. Others can email us for more information. Our featured upcoming classes:

Virtual Parent Cafe: Dads, Developing Your Parenting Style – June 9
Every child is different, and sometimes it might seem like girls and boys require different approaches. Bring your questions to this virtual parent cafe, and we’ll talk about adapting your parenting to meet your children where they are.

We need dedicated volunteer classroom facilitators and mentors. Apply today with Body Safety to help empower children and prevent or interrupt abuse. Volunteer with the Parenting Education and BeFriend-a-Child programs to help encourage children and build stronger families.
