Thanks for asking about the hiking trail recommendations. I’d definitely suggest the Ridge Loop at Mount Tam if you want moderate elevation with good views. We went last Saturday and the weather was perfect. The trail is about five miles round trip with some shaded sections near the creek. Parking can fill up by midmorning so arriving early helps. Let me know if you want a shorter option because the Canyon Path is only two miles and has a nice picnic spot at the turnaround. I’d also pack more water than you think you need because the last mile is exposed. The park maps are available at the ranger station and they update conditions daily. I can send you a photo of the trailhead marker so you know where to start. The gravel sections are well maintained so regular walking shoes work fine. We saw deer and a variety of birds along the way which was a nice surprise. Hope this helps with your planning and let me know if you need directions.

Regarding your question about the community garden plots, I spoke with the coordinator yesterday and there are still a few openings for the spring season. The raised beds are approximately four by eight feet and come with soil already prepared. Water access is available at each plot and there is a shared shed with basic tools. The annual contribution covers mulch and compost deliveries throughout the growing season. I signed up for plot number twelve near the sunflower border. If you are interested I can send you the registration link. They ask that you commit to maintaining the space and attending two workdays per season. The orientation session is scheduled for next Saturday morning and lasts about an hour. Several members are experienced growers and happy to share tips. There is also a small seed library on site where you can swap varieties. Let me know if you want me to reserve a plot for you before they fill up completely.
