Dear Hunt Valley Families,

Welcome to June!  I’ll keep my message short and sweet this week, as we all have many events to attend, projects to finish and summer planning ahead of us.

The Executive Board would love to hear any feedback from parents, teachers, staff, etc about PTA events or initiatives over the past year.  Ideas and suggestions for the upcoming year are also welcome.  Please reach out to President@huntvalleypta.org or info@huntvalleypta.org.

The PTA would love to connect with any individuals who would like to get more involved at the school in the upcoming year!  There are MANY ways to contribute with a wide range of areas/interests and time commitments, as varied as you need.  All of our biggest initiatives have a dedicated parent (or two) who will be leading the planning efforts but, as we all know, many hands make light work!  We would love to have small groups work on each project so other Hawk families can be involved, get experience and create great school memories for their students!  What are your skills and abilities?  Email and let us know if any of these areas sound interesting to you!  Expressing your interest does not mean you are required to help out.  It merely starts the conversation about what area might be a good fit for you.

●     Fundraising - reaching out to local businesses with sponsorship opportunities, helping prep donations for specific events, helping organize and execute the silent auction in the Spring, planning for monthly Spirit Nights

●     Membership - assisting with PTA membership sign ups at events and the Fall classroom membership competition

●     Events - joining the planning committee for one (or several) of the annual events (Fall Festival, Game Night, Trunk or Treat, Ice Skate Night, Spring Festival)

●     Hospitality/Teacher Appreciation - back to school Teacher Breakfast, Teacher’s Favorites list, monthly appreciation initiatives, 3 Days of Cheer, Teacher/Staff Appreciation Week

●     Student Enrichment - After school activities volunteers, assembly volunteers, Reflections art contest, Science Fair, Book Swap volunteers, Spelling Bee

PTA is seeking a volunteer to head the Wellness committee!  No experience or wellness background is required.  PTA Wellness assists with the Fun Run & Wellness Fair, the Pyramid Challenge and coordinates sign ups for Field Day.  Not sure you want to head it up alone?  Grab a friend or two and work as a team!
