Yeah, the trail was pretty muddy after all that rain we had last week. We ended up cutting the hike short by about two miles because it was just too slippery near the ridge. The view from the lower lookout was still worth it though, especially with the fog sitting in the valley. I managed to grab a few photos before my phone died. Anyway, we are planning another one this Saturday if the weather holds up. I will send you the details once we figure out the route. Let me know if you are interested. It should be a lot drier by then. We might even bring a grill for afterwards. I also heard there is a new coffee shop opening downtown. We could check it out after the hike if everyone is up for it.

I finally got around to making that baked ziti with the spicy sausage you recommended. It turned out amazing even though I had to substitute the ricotta with cottage cheese since the store was out. The whole family loved it so there were barely any leftovers for lunch the next day. I think next time I will double the recipe and maybe add some peppers for extra crunch. Thanks again for the suggestion. By the way, did you ever finish that bookshelf you were building? I would love to see some pictures of it finished. I am thinking of tackling a similar project for the living room. Let me know if you have any tips on wood stain colors. I want something that matches the floor.
