Hey, I was telling my brother about that new coffee shop you mentioned. He finally went last weekend and said the pour-over was incredible. He also tried the lavender latte and thought it was surprisingly balanced. I have been meaning to ask you what you usually order there. I am always a little overwhelmed by menus with too many options. The last time I went to a place like that I just ended up getting a plain black cold brew. Which is fine but probably not the adventurous choice they were hoping for. Anyway I think he wants to go back this weekend so I might tag along. If you have any recommendations on what to try let me know. Also how was your week? I feel like it has been flying by. We should catch up properly soon and maybe plan that hike we keep talking about. The weather has been perfect for being outside. Hope you are doing well. Talk soon.

I was thinking about that conversation we had last week about starting a garden. I finally cleared out a small bed in the backyard and planted some tomatoes and peppers. The soil here is pretty rocky so I am not sure how they will do but I am optimistic. My neighbor said to add eggshells for calcium which I thought was interesting. I also started a small herb pot on the porch with basil and mint. The mint is already going crazy which I hear is typical. If you have any tips on keeping the squirrels away I am all ears. They keep digging up the soil looking for who knows what. I tried sprinkling cayenne pepper around the bed and it seemed to help a little. Anyway I will keep you posted on how things grow. Let me know if you end up trying anything new in your yard this season. It is nice to have a little project that gets you outside.
