Regarding your question about the hiking trail we tried last weekend, I would recommend starting early in the morning to avoid the heat. The path is well marked but there are a few steep sections near the midpoint. We packed sandwiches and plenty of water which was helpful. The view from the top overlooks the entire valley and is worth the effort. Total round trip took us about four hours with breaks. There is a parking area at the base that costs a small fee. I think you would enjoy this route as it offers good variety in terrain.
