Now that our new and improved Oat Balm Cleanser is out, I wanted to personally explain why we chose to update one of our most-loved products and exactly what’s changed.
Our original Oat Cleansing Balm has been a bestseller for 8 years. Millions of you rely on it daily. So making any change to it wasn’t something we took lightly. But at INKEY, we believe even our best products should never stand still, especially when you’ve told us there’s room to make them better.
Your feedback was clear: improve the texture, make it easier to rinse off, and upgrade the packaging experience. So that’s exactly what we set out to do.
After testing over 125 formulations, we’ve evolved Oat to work harder for your skin, while keeping everything you already love.
In our new Oat Balm Cleanser, we’ve increased the level of Oat Kernel Oil from 3% to 5%. This is packed with skin-identical ceramides, meaning better hydration, stronger barrier support, and more effective makeup removal. We’ve also upgraded the emulsifiers, helping it transform into a smoother, creamier milk when you rinse, and crucially, without that post-cleanse grease.
We've also made some new additions. Sea Buckthorn Oil is naturally antibacterial and anti-inflammatory, making it especially helpful for oily or acne-prone skin, while delivering antioxidant protection. And finally, a new Natural Wax Blend improves the texture of the balm itself, while conditioning the skin so it feels softer and smoother after every cleanse.
We’ve also improved the packaging. The tube is softer and thinner so you can squeeze out every last drop, while also reducing plastic use by 16 tonnes a year.
This isn’t a new product. It’s the same Oat Cleansing Balm, just done better. No unnecessary changes. Just smarter ones.
