Hi John, thanks for sending your notes on the garden plan. I think the raised beds along the south fence make sense for the tomatoes and peppers. We should probably start preparing the soil next weekend if the weather cooperates. I checked the forecast and it looks like we might get some rain midweek which would help soften things up. I picked up a few bags of compost from the landscape supply place downtown and they have a delivery option if we need more. The strawberry patch on the east side should get plenty of morning sun but I am a little worried about the walnut tree casting too much shade in the afternoon. Let me know what you think about moving those to the other side of the yard near the shed where we had the rhubarb last year. I can bring the tiller over on Saturday morning if that works for your schedule.

I looked into the community center volunteer schedule for next month and wanted to share what I found. The evening slots on Tuesdays and Thursdays are still open if you wanted to sign up for those. They mentioned needing extra help on the weekend of the 18th for the family movie night which could be a good opportunity if your schedule allows. I spoke with Margaret at the front desk and she said training materials are available online so you can review those ahead of time. The parking situation should be fine since they have the lot behind the building reserved for volunteers. Let me know which shifts work for you and I can add your name to the roster.
