Message from Mrs. Castillo

Marshall HS Graduation

Last week was nothing short of amazing!  On Monday, the Marshall Pyramid Principals were able to celebrate the graduates from Marshall High School in person at DAR in Washington DC.  Seeing my first group of 5th graders at Lemon Road move on to great things was powerful.

On Tuesday, our student leaders enjoyed a delicious picnic lunch thanking them for their time and ideas throughout the year.  Then on Wednesday, our Eco Defense squad supported by Katie Busch, Wes Spence, and Taryn Roman hosted an annual reflection to bring closure to this year's eco-activities.  Also on Wednesday, Ms. Velazquez and our Multilingual Learner Team hosted a celebration for our students that "graduated" from ESOL services!

Throughout the week, several grades invited families in for engaging activities - part of our focus on family connections and engagement at Lemon Road.  First Graders held a market connecting their social studies and benchmark units.  Second graders showed off their Biography Buddies on Thursday.  Third graders hosted a math carnival where they created, shared, and played math games to review 3rd grade content.  Finally, fourth graders hosted a math game day on Thursday.  Each of these events brought so many families into the school to celebrate student learning.

Friday, the entire community came together to help all K - 6 students participate in Field Day in the morning due to the weather.  A huge thank you to PE teachers,  Tom Hickman and Harry Van Trees, our PTA, parent volunteers, and donations of popsicles ensuring a safe and fun day for everyone.
