Hey I finally got around to checking out that hiking trail you mentioned last month the one up near the ridge with the lake at the end Honestly it was way more manageable than I expected the elevation gain was pretty gradual and the path was well marked the whole way We started around 7am so we had the trail mostly to ourselves until about 10 when more people started showing up The lake at the top was crystal clear and we saw a couple of deer drinking from the edge I packed way too much food but better over prepared than hungry right Next time I'll bring a lighter pack though My legs were feeling it the next day for sure but totally worth it If you want to go again this season just let me know and I'll clear my schedule I think autumn would be amazing up there with the leaves changing d7OdN4fdKeCcwX We should also check out that other trail you mentioned on the south side of the park I heard the views are even better from that lookout point

I tried making that pasta dish you sent me the recipe for and it came out surprisingly well I was a little nervous about the sauce because I've never made anything like that from scratch before but it actually came together pretty smoothly I used a bit less garlic than called for because I'm not as bold as you are with it and I think it still had plenty of flavor The fresh basil really made a difference though I almost skipped it because the store was out but I found some at the farmer's market stand on the corner I served it with a simple side salad and some crusty bread and it felt like a real restaurant meal My roommate had seconds which is always a good sign I'll definitely make it again maybe for a dinner party if I'm feeling brave Let me know if you have any other recipes you'd recommend I'm trying to cook more at home this year and your suggestions have been great so far
