The second option is further into the woods with more shade and less wind. We settled on the third choice which has good trail access and a group fire pit. I have been testing a new sourdough starter for the past two weeks. The first batch turned out too acidic so I adjusted the feeding ratio. Now it is much more balanced with a nice tang. I baked a loaf yesterday and the crumb was open and airy. The crust had a good crackle. I will bring a loaf to the dinner on Saturday. Let me know if anyone has dietary restrictions I should account for. I can also make a small batch using spelt flour if needed. The recipe I used came from a bakery in Portland. It requires a long cold ferment which builds complexity.
