Hey, thanks for asking! I finally got around to trying that sourdough starter recipe you sent. It took about ten days to get really bubbly, but the first loaf came out way better than I expected. The crust had that perfect crackle, and the inside was soft with those nice irregular holes. I think the key was keeping it in a warm spot—my kitchen counter was fine but I wrapped the jar in a towel at night. Next time I want to experiment with adding a little whole wheat flour for a nuttier flavor. Also, I'm planning to use some of the discard to make crackers this weekend. Do you ever bake anything else with the extra starter? DsBldVKM96TVYh Anyway, hope you're doing well. Let me know if you want a photo of the crumb—I'm pretty proud of it!

I just finished reading that sci-fi novel you recommended last month – the one about the generation ship and the unexpected alien signal. It took me a while because the first hundred pages are pretty slow, but once the plot picked up I couldn't put it down. The world-building is incredible; the way the author describes the ship’s ecosystem feels totally plausible. I especially loved the character of the botanist who starts questioning the mission. The ending left me with a lot of questions, but I think that’s intentional. Have you read the sequel? I heard it’s even better. Also, I started a new podcast on marine biology and it’s surprisingly addictive. Let me know if you want the link – it might be your kind of thing.
