DVSA is increasing the maximum service charge that Authorised Testing Facilities (ATFs) can make in connection with MOT tests for heavy vehicles.
The change is intended to help maintain a stable and sustainable testing network so you can continue to access reliable MOT testing services for your buses, coaches, HGVs and trailers.
The maximum charges from Monday 6 July will be:
ATFs will continue to set their own charges, up to the maximum permitted level. This means charges should remain competitive, and many of you may see little or no change in what you pay for testing services.
Maximum service charges for ATFs have not increased since 2010. This measured and moderate adjustment is necessary to help sustain the testing network. The proposed amounts are intended to strike a fair and balanced position.
Our aim is to ensure you continue to benefit from accessible, consistent and high-quality testing services through a reliable ATF network.
