FAA investigating 2nd near-miss in 2 days involving plane landing at Logan airport

A passenger jet pulled up from landing at Boston Logan International Airport on Sunday because another plane was still on the runway, officials said.

It’s the second such incident in two days — another Delta plane aborted its landing on Saturday, with an aviation expert saying it came within the length of a football field from the other plane. The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating both go-around incidents, in which both planes did land safely.

Sunday’s incident took place about 5:45 p.m., when Delta Flight 1075 was instructed by the Logan air traffic control to go-around, a maneuver on which a plane stops landing and climbs for another approach. The other aircraft was clearing the Delta plane’s runway after crossing it, according to the FAA.
