Thanks for asking about the trail conditions on Mount Tamalpais. I was up there last weekend and the Steep Ravine route is in good shape, though there are a few muddy patches near the creek crossings. The ranger said they are doing maintenance on the boardwalk section, so you might encounter a short detour about halfway up. I would recommend starting by 8am if you want to avoid the afternoon crowds. The parking lot fills up fast on weekends, so carpooling would be wise. There is also a new map available at the visitor center that highlights the reopened connector trail to the Pantoll campground. Let me know if you want more details about the elevation gain or water refill spots along the way.
As for gear, I wore my trail runners and they handled the terrain fine, but some folks might prefer boots for the rocky descent. The weather forecast looks stable, so it should be a good day out.

Regarding the book club meeting next Tuesday, I think Sarah's suggestion to read the Barbara Kingsolver novel is a solid choice. I finished it last month and found the character development really compelling, especially the second half where the themes around resilience come into focus. I can bring my copy if anyone needs to borrow it. Also, I wanted to ask about the potluck arrangement - should we stick with the usual sign-up sheet or try something different this time? I was thinking a simple dessert theme could be nice, but I am open to whatever works for the group. Let me know if you want me to send out a reminder email to everyone about the date change.
On a different note, I finally got around to organizing the garage shelves last weekend and found some old photo albums from the camping trip we took in 2019. I will bring them to the next gathering if anyone wants to flip through them. Let me know what you think about the book selection when you get a chance.
