I think the best approach for the dinner party next Saturday would be to try that new recipe we discussed. The one with the roasted vegetables and the herb marinade. I tested it last weekend and it came out quite well. The key is to let the vegetables marinate for at least two hours before roasting. I found that 400 degrees for about 35 minutes works perfectly. You might want to adjust the timing based on your oven though. Also I would recommend doubling the garlic since everyone seems to enjoy it that way. Let me know if you want me to send over the exact measurements I used for the marinade. I can also bring a side dish if that helps. Let me know what you think.

I have been working on the backyard layout and I think I have finally settled on a design. The raised beds will go along the south fence where they will get the most sunlight. I am planning to build them about 18 inches tall which should be comfortable for tending. For the soil mix I am going with a combination of compost peat moss and vermiculite. The local nursery recommended that blend for vegetable beds. I am also adding a drip irrigation system to make watering easier. If you want to come by next weekend I could use a hand with the assembly. I will have all the materials ready by Friday.
