I think the best approach for Saturday would be to start around 10am at the farmers market on Elm Street since they have that new vendor with the artisan bread. After that we could walk over to the park if the weather holds up. I checked the forecast and it shows partly cloudy with a slight chance of showers in the late afternoon. We should probably bring a couple of umbrellas just in case. For lunch I was thinking about that Italian place on Oak Avenue that everyone has been talking about. They have outdoor seating and the menu looks really solid. I heard their mushroom risotto is excellent. Let me know if you want me to make a reservation for around 1pm. Also I wanted to ask if your sister will be joining us because I need to confirm the headcount. She mentioned she might bring her friend who is visiting from out of town and that would be fine with me. The more the merrier as long as we have enough space at the table.

I also wanted to mention that I finally finished organizing the photos from our trip last month. I put them in a shared album so you can add your favorites. There were quite a few good ones from the hiking trail especially the ones near the waterfall. I think we should plan another outing soon maybe something low key like a board game night at your place next weekend. Let me know what you think about all of this when you get a chance.

I was just reviewing the notes you sent about the community garden project and I think we need to adjust the planting schedule slightly. The soil temperature readings from last week were still a bit low for the tomatoes and peppers so we should probably push those out by about ten days. The cool season crops like lettuce and carrots are fine to go in as planned. I checked with the supplier and they confirmed the compost delivery is still on track for Thursday morning. They will drop it near the shed as usual. We should have enough bags of mulch for the pathways but I might order a few extra just to be safe. The water barrel installation went well last weekend and the drip irrigation lines are laid out for the main beds. We still need to run the line to the herb spiral but that should only take an afternoon. I also wanted to mention that the volunteer orientation is scheduled for next Saturday at 9am and we could use some help setting up chairs and the sign in table. Let me know if you can arrive a bit early to help with that.

Regarding the fall workshop series I think we should finalize the dates this week so we can start promoting it. The extension office confirmed they can provide a speaker for the composting session and the seed saving workshop. We should probably cap attendance at around twenty five people per session to keep things manageable. I will draft the flyer and send it over for your feedback.
