I had a chance to finally try that new ramen place downtown and honestly it was incredible. The broth had been simmering for eighteen hours and you could really taste the depth of flavor in every single spoonful. I went with the tonkotsu which is their signature and the pork belly melted on the tongue like butter.

We also ordered the gyoza as an appetizer and those were perfectly crisped on the bottom. The wait was about twenty minutes on a weekday evening which felt reasonable for how popular the spot has become. I think you would really enjoy it if you decide to go. They have vegetarian options too for when you want something lighter.

Thanks for asking about the garden project. It has been coming along nicely even though the weather has not always cooperated. I planted tomatoes and basil in the raised beds and they are already starting to show new growth which is exciting. The pepper plants are a bit slower but I think they just need a few more warm days to really take off.

I also added a small herb section with rosemary and thyme near the edge. The soil needed quite a bit of amendment because it was mostly clay when we started but after mixing in compost and sand it is much better now. I ended up expanding the original plan by about twenty percent because I found some extra bricks at the hardware store.

The whole process has been more rewarding than I expected. I find myself checking on the plants every morning before work and it is a nice way to start the day.
