I wanted to follow up on your question about pruning the fig tree. The best time to do it is late winter while the tree is still dormant. I usually remove any branches that cross or rub against each other first. Then I thin out the center to allow light and air to reach the inner growth. You want to keep about six to eight main branches that radiate outward. Make your cuts at a slight angle about a quarter inch above a bud that faces outward. I also take out any suckers coming from the base. The tree may look sparse at first but it will respond with stronger growth in the spring. I use clean sharp pruners and wipe them with alcohol between cuts to prevent spreading anything. A light application of compost around the drip line after pruning gives it a good start. Let me know if you want me to walk through the shaping cuts in more detail.

I looked into the scheduling question you asked about. The committee meeting can happen on either the second or third Tuesday of next month. I checked with the venue and both dates are available. The room we used last time holds about thirty people comfortably. We would need to confirm by the end of this week to hold the reservation. I also reached out to the catering team about light refreshments. They can do a simple setup with coffee and pastries for about eight dollars per person. Let me know which date works better for your group. I will send the agenda draft once we lock in the day. We should also decide whether we want to include a brief Q and A segment after the main presentation. The projector and screen are available in the room so slides will work fine. I can bring my laptop and an adapter just in case.
