I finally tried that trail we talked about last month. The weather was perfect, not too hot, and the views at the summit were absolutely worth the early start. I packed way too much food but ended up sharing it with a group of friendly hikers sp8xF6WGRisp25 who were just as unprepared as we were. We spent about an hour at the top just chatting and taking photos. The descent was trickier than I remembered, mostly because my knees started complaining halfway down. Still, it was a great reminder of why I enjoy getting out of the city on weekends. I saw a deer on the way back to the car, which felt like a nice bonus. I'll send you a few of the photos I took. The lighting was incredible, especially right around sunrise. I think we should make this a regular thing, maybe every couple of months. There are a few other trails in the same area I want to check out. One of them leads to a small waterfall, though I'm not sure if the water flow will be strong enough this time of year. I might do some research online later this week. Let me know if you're free sometime soon.

Thanks for the recommendation on that new science podcast. I listened to the first three episodes while doing yard work last weekend. It's surprisingly engaging, although the host's voice took a bit of getting used to. The episode on ocean currents was fascinating because it connected a lot of dots for me regarding weather patterns we've been experiencing. I also started reading the book you mentioned, the one about the history of cartography. It's dense, but the stories about early explorers mapping coastlines are genuinely exciting. I'm only about a hundred pages in, but I already have a newfound respect for old maps. We should grab coffee next week so I can pick your brain about a few things I didn't quite understand in the later chapters. I also tried that brisket recipe you sent. Turned out decent, though my smoke ring wasn't as pronounced as yours. I think my grill temperature fluctuated too much. I'll tinker with it next time and let you know how it goes. Appreciate all the tips.
