Yeah I finally got around to trying that sourdough starter recipe you told me about last month. It took a few tries to get the hydration right but the third batch came out really well. The kitchen smelled amazing while it was baking and the crust had that perfect crackle when I tapped it. I added a bit of rosemary and sea salt on top which gave it a nice savory twist mIPfdvUX3fc0UY6 and the texture was really what I was hoping for. Next time I want to experiment with whole wheat flour to see how the texture changes. Let me know if you want me to save you a slice or better yet come over and we can bake another one together this weekend. I think I'm getting the hang of the timing now and it feels pretty rewarding to make something from scratch.

I was thinking about that hiking trail we did near the lake last fall and I really want to go back now that the weather is warming up. The wildflowers should be starting to bloom and the view from the ridge is incredible this time of year. We could pack a lunch and make a full day of it if you're free on Saturday. I checked the forecast and it looks clear for the next week so conditions should be perfect. The trail was in great shape when I went a few months ago and they've done some maintenance on the wooden sections near the creek. It's about six miles round trip with some moderate elevation gain but nothing too strenuous. I think we should bring extra water and maybe some trail snacks for the top.
