Oscillating Weight

Driven by wrist movement, the oscillating weight winds the mainspring, requiring exceptional stability for smooth, consistent rotation. To maximize winding efficiency, MIYOTA utilizes high-density tungsten. They overcome this metal's extreme hardness using advanced powder injection molding, managing the entire process entirely in-house—from design to final assembly—to flawlessly maintain strict manufacturing tolerances.

Pallet Fork

The anchor-shaped pallet fork drives the escapement, creating the watch's signature "ticking" sound as its jewels engage the escape wheel. Assembled from five components smaller than a grain of rice, extreme precision is paramount. MIYOTA meticulously aligns every jewel to ensure perfect meshing, guaranteeing the long-term stability and reliability of the movement.

Jewels

Crafted from ultra-hard synthetic rubies, these specialized gemstones—including hole, cap, pallet, and roller jewels—are critical for reducing friction and retaining oil. MIYOTA manufactures all its jewels entirely in-house, controlling the process from raw materials to final inspection. Leveraging nearly six decades of ultra-precise machining expertise, they achieve a level of custom precision that commercial alternatives simply cannot match.
