In a Nutshell
There’s a special kind of magic in a cookbook that’s survived years of splattered sauce and pages turned with messy fingers. Today, we’re cracking open our team’s personal collections to share the recipe books that have earned a permanent spot in our kitchens.

what’s got us buzzing
What’s your favorite cookbook, and why?
“A go-to in my house is ‘What to Cook When You Don’t Feel Like Cooking’ by Caroline Chambers. It’s organized by how long the meals take to cook, which is super helpful, and there are a ton of options! A few of our favorites that are always in rotation are the hot Italian sausage and kale pasta, white bean chicken chili, and one-pan chicken burrito bowl.” — Franchesca Ramos, social media influencer marketing associate
“I love ‘Deliciously Ella: The Plant-Based Cookbook.’ While I’m not strictly vegan, it really opened my eyes to how enjoyable plant-based eating can be. These days, you need a membership to access the recipes online, so having a physical collection of them feels especially nice. The photos are colorful and inviting, and they make plant-based eating feel exciting and accessible. My go-to is the sweet potato and chickpea stew; it’s always a crowd pleaser.” — Chloe Szilagyi, editor
“‘From Crook to Cook’ by Snoop Dogg is one book I loved and used religiously in undergrad. I still cook a lot of the recipes in this book for friends during parties.” — Tim Mojica, social media marketing manager
“‘Dishoom.’ I haven’t actually cooked many of these recipes yet, but it’s just such a stunning book to look through! It’s filled with beautiful photography and really engaging commentary on the dishes and culture of Bombay. When I first got it, I sat for hours just reading without focusing primarily on the recipes. A couple of the standout recipes I have tried are actually drinks — the mango lassi and Colaba Colada are delicious.”
“‘POLPO.’ This cookbook was actually gifted to me by some friends (who wanted me to cook them things from it) and is another one that’s also just beautiful to have in my kitchen. It focuses primarily on small plates inspired by Venetian cooking. Some of my favorite recipes I’ve tried so far include the arancini and the asparagus risotto with prosciutto. The pizza dough recipe is also fab!” — Meg Lewis, editor
