Greetings, Glen Forest Families,
While Assistant Principal Alexandra Bowman is on leave with her new baby, the Region 2 Leadership Team has gifted us with an Acting Assistant Principal, Dr. Lawrence Randolph. We are thrilled to have Dr. Randolph with us until approximately mid-October. Thank you for giving Dr. Randolph a warm, eagle-spirited welcome! Please read his bio below.
Dr. Lawrence Randolph will begin serving as Acting Assistant Principal at Glen Forest Elementary School on July 15, 2026. He currently serves as the Senior Manager for Secondary Advanced Academics, a role he has held since 2024. Prior to that, he served as the Middle School Specialist for Advanced Academics. Before joining central office, Dr. Randolph worked as a middle school mathematics teacher at Herndon Middle School, and an Advanced Academic Resource Teacher and Acting Dean of Special Education at Glasgow Middle School.
Dr. Randolph joined Fairfax County Public Schools in 2020 after serving in a variety of leadership and instructional roles in Charlotte County Public Schools, including Director of Special Education and Student Services, Coordinator of Special Education, Administrative Instructional Coordinator/Assistant Principal at a Title I school, 21st Century Grant Site Director, and Special Education Teacher.
Dr. Randolph believes that every student deserves access to high-quality instruction, meaningful opportunities, and the individualized support necessary to reach their full potential. He is committed to fostering inclusive learning environments where all students feel valued, challenged, and empowered to succeed.
In his free time, Dr. Randolph teaches courses and develops curriculum for Longwood University and George Mason University, where he is passionate about preparing the next generation of educators. He is also currently pursuing a third master's degree in Mathematics Education.
See you in August!
