What's the story? Argentina has defeated its long-time adversary England by securing two goals in the final minutes of an epic showdown in the men's FIFA World Cup semifinal. Blow-by-blow: The game was tense from the get-go, with England's Anthony Gordon the first to score in the 55th minute. But what followed next was a crushing comeback, with Argentina putting the English side under sustained pressure, levelling the score and then going 2-1.

• Mixed review: Australian artists have welcomed the government's planned AI office but say they need a seat directly at the table to prevent their work from being used by big tech to train their AI models without their control. AI is worth big dollars but copyright infringement remains a major source of worry for many in the arts.
• Analysis with Cam Wilson: The government is seeking to portray itself as grabbing the AI issue by the horns, but some would argue Anthony Albanese is merely kicking the can down the road. And conspicuously missing from the PM's speech yesterday was any mention of Australian-built AI models, of which there are some and could be more.
• Q-Day: You may not have heard of it before, but it's coming and when it arrives, it threatens to break cybersecurity and end the internet as we know it. But computer scientists are alive to the danger, and now a high-tech race against time is underway.

• 'Deep rooted': What must the Liberal Party do to revive its fortunes? A new internal review is looking at a range of measures, including gender quotas, in a fresh bid to broaden its popularity with younger and multicultural voters as it lags behind One Nation in the polls.
• Refunds flowing: After Donald Trump's tariffs were ruled illegal, businesses around the world are clawing back $110 billion they paid to keep their products on American shelves. Australian businesses, many of which endured "stomach-curdling" moments navigating the levies, are among them.
• Telstra outage: Both the telco and its regulator are bracing for a grilling before senators tomorrow after its network failure. But ACMA is also taking action, threatening a consumer group with hefty penalties.
• Petrol panic? Motorists are being told to keep their cool despite oil prices spiking again on account of renewed fighting in the Middle East. Experts say there are some key differences now compared to the initial hike in March that should prevent more pain at the pump.

That's Martin Laverty, one of the architects of the NDIS, who is protesting against the scheme's treatment of people like Lucy Muggeridge, who could even be worse off under it than before it was established.

Last month, the NDIA ruled one-on-one care was not "value for money" for Lucy, who has an intellectual disability and cannot speak beyond a few words.
