Hey there,

I'm heading out for a ride this weekend and honestly, I can't wait. But with the summer heat hitting hard right now, I've been thinking about a few things I always make sure to sort out before a hot weather session.

Hydrate before you ride.
Don't wait until you're thirsty. By the time thirst kicks in, you're already behind. I always drink water before I even gear up and throw extra in the pack for anything longer than an hour out.

Time your ride right.
I'm aiming for an early start this Saturday. The heat between 11am and 3pm is no joke right now. Early morning or late afternoon is the sweet spot. Better conditions, better riding.

Gear up smart.
I know it's tempting to skip layers when it's this hot, but full gear is non-negotiable for me regardless of the temperature. There's plenty of good warm-weather gear out there that keeps you protected without cooking you alive, such as ventilated helmet and breathable kit.

Give your bike a once-over.
Before I head out I always do a quick check of my tire pressures, chain slack, and make sure all my lights are working.

Sort out your cameras before your riding. This week I'll be using my new Arai paired with the VisePro™ Max. I'm choosing the VisePro™ Max right now over a standard chin mount because I wanna swap it to my bike and capture different angles of the ride. I'll swap the mount over to my friends BMW as well after our first gas stop so he can capture some shots as well.

Have a great ride and stay cool out there.
