Dear Veteran,
We’re excited to invite you—and any fellow women Veterans you know—to a special event just for you.
For the first time, the Oscar G. Johnson VA Medical Center is hosting healthcare enrollment events dedicated to women Veterans. Our all-women outreach and enrollment team will be there to answer your questions, walk you through eligibility, and help you get the benefits and care you’ve earned.
There’s good news for many Veterans: The PACT Act has expanded eligibility for VA healthcare. If you were previously denied, or you’re not sure you qualify, now’s the perfect time to check. New benefits include free hearing aids and eyeglasses, lower-cost healthcare, and affordable medication co-pays (some as low as $8, with a monthly cap of $33). Some Veterans may even qualify for care at no cost.
These events are open to all women who served in the military and their families. We’ll have on-site childcare, so you can focus on enrolling and exploring your options. If you’re not sure what to bring, just grab your DD214, last year’s income info, your marriage date (if married), and the birthdates and Social Security numbers for any dependents.
