Experts Set the Budget. Here's What They Built

Right now, budgets are shrinking, expectations are ballooning and the pressure has never been higher for small teams. In their new report, our friends at The Davey Awards challenged Jurors from the Academy of Interactive & Visual Arts (AIVA), to share their expert advice on building great creative work when budgets are tight.

Download their "Under/Over $___" Report to explore how industry leaders from ServiceNow, Love Advertising, The Podglomerate, NowThis Media and more would launch a project type (think: social video series, website, video podcast, etc.) on a target small budget including where to start, which tools to prioritize, what to cut without losing impact and what they would add if that budget doubled.

Some findings include:

  • Social Video: Skip the camera. Hire the editor.
  • Websites: Launch small. A site's never "done."
  • Video Podcasts: Roadmap first. Buy the mic last.

The report also features stand-out projects from last year’s Davey Award winners, including Tyler Technologies, Few – Digital Product Agency, The Healing Heroes, ANML and more.
