I don't have an issue with out of shape personal trainers, A.
But I do think it must be extra hard to get results for people.
Before I get cancelled, let me explain.
Yesterday we booked a trip to Thailand.
Bought flights on my phone like a psychopath.
A big part of this decision is because I'm done living like a monk.
I used to avoid travel. Social events. Anything that pulled me out of my zone. I wanted to work, lift, and eat in a way I could control.
Told myself I'd travel and enjoy life when things calm down.
Then I realized I was doing the thing I was asking people to stop doing...
Matteo, my life is just too busy to hit the gym
Once the kids are back in school I'll start again
How can I expect people to act differently if I won't?
So this year I'm:
All of it. At the same time.
Walking the walk.
No more waiting for a day that might never come.
I'm not tolerating acting from that place of insecurity. Out of fear that things might not work out.
I'll be a better partner, a better coach, and a better athlete for doing it.
That's the part people miss about the out of shape trainer. It isn't about the body.
It's just hard to ask someone to change when you're not changing anything.
