Hey, thanks for checking in about the weekend plans. I totally forgot to reply earlier because my phone was buried under a pile of laundry. Anyway, yes, I think the park idea sounds great, especially if the weather holds up like they said it might. I was thinking we could bring a blanket and maybe some snacks, nothing too crazy. Did you end up watching that documentary about the migratory birds? I fell asleep halfway through but the parts I caught were really interesting. Also, I finally tried that new recipe with the roasted squash and it turned out way better than expected. Let me know if you want me to bring anything else. Oh, and I ran into Sam at the library yesterday, we ended up talking about old board games for like twenty minutes. It was funny because neither of us could remember the rules to half of them. Anyway, hope your week is going smoothly and that your neighbor finally fixed their fence. Talk soon.

I keep meaning to ask you about that book you recommended, the one set in the mountains. I started reading it last night and I think I'm already hooked. The way the author describes the landscape is something else, it makes me want to plan a trip somewhere with actual hills. We should compare notes once I finish it. Also, my coffee maker started making a weird noise this morning, so I'm going to look up some troubleshooting guides later. If you know anything about that kind of thing, let me know. I promise I won't turn it into a whole project. There's also a small chance I'll bake something this weekend, maybe those lemon bars we had at the potluck. Those were surprisingly good. Anyway, I'll stop rambling now. Hope the rest of your day is quiet and that you find a good parking spot wherever you go.

So I was thinking about the garden again today, and I realized I never asked you about the soil mix you used for those raised beds last spring. Was it a blend you bought in bulk or did you make your own? Because mine is getting kind of compacted and I want to redo it before fall planting. Also, did you ever get around to fixing that leaky spigot near the back fence? I remember you mentioned it was dripping and driving you crazy. Mine started doing that too, and I ended up wrapping it with some tape as a temporary fix. Not the most elegant solution, but it held up through last week's rain. Let me know what you ended up doing. I might need to borrow the idea if you found something better. There's also a chance I'll try growing some herbs indoors this winter, but I haven't decided yet. The windowsill gets decent afternoon light, so basil and thyme might do okay. If you have any tips, send them my way.

By the way, I saw a dog that looked exactly like the one we used to see at the community center, the brown one with the white patch over one eye. It made me think of that time we both tried to guess its name from across the parking lot. I still think it was something like Biscuit, but you were convinced it was more like Pretzel. We'll probably never know. Anyway, that was my random moment for the day. Hope you're doing well and that your new desk chair is working out. I know you were waiting forever for it to ship. If it's comfy, let me know the brand because I might need to replace mine soon. It's starting to make a clicking sound when I lean back, which is never a good sign. Anyway, hope you have a good rest of the week. I'll talk to you soon.
