Hey, I was just thinking about you the other day. I ended up deep cleaning the entire pantry because I found a box of pasta that had been hiding behind everything for months. It turns out reorganizing shelves is weirdly soothing, even though it took the whole afternoon.

Later I watched a documentary about octopuses and learned they can solve puzzles and recognize people. My mind was honestly blown for the rest of the evening. I told my neighbor about it and she said she already knew, which made me feel a little behind on marine biology news.

Anyway, I have been trying to get outside more before the weather shifts. There is a path near the old mill that takes about forty minutes to walk, and the light through the trees in the afternoon is something else. I keep forgetting my water bottle though, which is not ideal for a longer route.

What have you been up to? Have you started that book you mentioned a while back, or is it still sitting on the shelf waiting for the right rainy day?

I finally got around to fixing the kitchen faucet this weekend. It had been dripping for weeks and I kept telling myself I would get to it. Turns out I only needed to replace a small washer inside, which took about ten minutes once I actually looked at it. The hardest part was finding the right size at the hardware store because they had about fifty different options that all looked identical.

After that I made a huge pot of soup and invited a couple of neighbors over. We talked about everything from gardening to which local bakery has the best sourdough right now. I am still convinced the place on Elm Street wins, but everyone had their own favorite.

I have also been playing around with a new playlist while I cook. Lots of old jazz and some newer stuff mixed in. Music in the kitchen makes such a difference, especially when you are chopping vegetables or waiting for water to boil.

Hope your week is going well. Let me know if you want to catch up soon, maybe try that new trail by the river before it gets too busy.
