Yeah, I thought the same thing when I first looked at the setup instructions. It seems way more complicated than it actually is once you start moving pieces around on the counter. The only tricky part is making sure the little tabs on the side snap into place before you tighten the screws, otherwise the whole shelf sits a bit crooked and you end up redoing it. I usually just set a towel down first so nothing rolls off.

On the second attempt it took maybe fifteen minutes total, including finding the right tool in the drawer. I remember thinking I should label the bags of hardware next time because the small silver ones look almost identical to the longer brass ones. Other than that it was pretty painless and now the corner of the room feels less cluttered. Definitely worth doing before the weekend if you have a spare half hour.

I get what you mean about the weather changing so fast lately. One minute the sky is completely clear and then out of nowhere the wind picks up and you can smell rain coming. I started keeping a lightweight jacket in the back of the car just in case because I was tired of getting caught without one. It folds down really small too, so it doesn't take up much space next to the umbrella.

We ended up walking the whole loop around the reservoir anyway even though it started drizzling halfway through. The air felt cleaner after that, like it does in the spring when everything is just starting to bloom. Not much stuck to the path either, so it was fine. If you go tomorrow you might want to bring shoes you don't mind getting a little mud on near the north entrance.

I finally got around to cleaning out the little drawer by the front door and found three old tickets from that show we went to back in spring. They were tucked under a stack of half-empty notepads and some dried out pens. The ink on the tickets is barely visible now but I could still make out the seat numbers, which made me laugh because we spent half the night in the wrong row before someone pointed us to the other side of the aisle.

Anyway, I also found my spare charging cable that I thought was lost for good, so the whole cleanup was worth it just for that. I put the tickets in a small envelope with a few other paper keepsakes and moved the rest to a box in the closet. The drawer actually closes all the way now, which shouldn't feel like an accomplishment but honestly it kind of does.

You were right about the new recipe, by the way. I cut back the lemon a little and let it sit in the fridge for about an hour before baking, which seemed to help the middle set better than last time. The top got a little browner than I intended but it didn't turn out dry at all. I think the sugar content in the berries made a bigger difference than I expected too.

Next time I'll use parchment paper from the start instead of just greasing the pan, because the edges stuck a bit when I tried to lift it out. Not a big deal, but I'm learning. If you still want to try it with the extra spice mix, let me know how it goes. Maybe we can swap notes after the next attempt.
