Hey there - I was just thinking about that road trip we talked about last month. Did you ever figure out which route you wanted to take? I remember you mentioned wanting to stop at that little roadside diner with the huge blue sign. I looked it up after we chatted and apparently they have a butterscotch pie that people drive hours for. Anyway, the reason I'm writing is that I finally got my kitchen shelves reorganized. It took most of Saturday, but I pulled everything out, sorted through the old spice jars, and actually found three containers of the same paprika. I don't even remember buying two of them. I ended up putting a small step stool in the corner and moving the cast iron pans down lower so they're easier to grab. The whole room feels more open now, which is nice. My neighbor saw me carrying boxes out to the recycling bin and asked if I was moving. I told her no, just clearing out space. She offered me some extra shelf brackets she had lying around. I might take her up on it if I decide to add one more shelf above the window. Anyway, hope your week is going well. Let me know if you want to grab coffee soon. I'll be around on Thursday or Saturday morning.

I got your note about the garden earlier this week - thanks for thinking of me. The tomatoes are actually doing better than I expected, even with the late start. I think the extra compost I mixed in made a real difference. One of the zucchini plants has taken over half the bed, though. I tried to guide it back with a small trellis, but it just keeps spreading toward the fence line. I went out this morning and found three more little squash hiding under the leaves. At this rate I'll have to start sharing with the neighbors again. I also planted a few rows of carrots and some basil near the corner. The basil already smells amazing when I walk past. My sister came by on Sunday and mentioned she wants to try growing cucumbers next year. I told her I could help set up a raised bed if she wants. She seemed interested, so we'll see. Anyway, I hope your week has been going smoothly. The weather looks decent for the weekend - maybe I'll get out and finally clear the brush behind the shed. Let me know what you've been up to when you get a chance. Talk soon.
