A Message From Your Administration

Dear Woodley Hills Family,

Welcome back to what promises to be a wonderful new school year! I am so thrilled to welcome all of our students and families back to campus on August 24, with our official school hours being 8:45 AM to 3:30 PM, with doors opening at 8:25 AM daily. Our team has worked hard to prepare a warm, engaging, and inspiring environment for our children, and we cannot wait to see their bright smiles fill our hallways again.

As we prepare for a great first day, please keep in mind that arrival and dismissal will be very busy as everyone adjusts back into their school routine. To keep all of our students, families, and staff safe, we kindly ask that you follow the directions of our team members on duty during these times. Thank you so much for your partnership, patience, and support as we embark on this exciting year together!

Student ID Cards

AAP Information

Advanced Academic Programs

Fairfax County Public Schools is committed to challenging all students through talent development and differentiated instruction. A continuum of Advanced Academic Programs (AAP) services is available to students in Grades K to 12 and is designed to match services to each student’s unique academic needs.

Identification for Subject-Specific and Part-Time AAP services occurs throughout the school year. Full-Time AAP services have two identification cycles:

Fall identification: Students in grades 3 to 7 who have enrolled in FCPS since January may be referred by October 15.

Spring identification: Any FCPS student in Grades 2 to 7 may be referred by December 15.

FCPS uses ability testing as one consideration in the holistic identification process for AAP services:

All students in Grade 2 take the Naglieri General Ability Test (NGAT).
Students in Grades 3 to 6 who do not have a multi-domain ability test score take the NGAT.
Students in Grades 3 to 6 may retake an ability test one time. Families may request the ability test retake by contacting Alex Keightley, school testing coordinator, at akeightley@fcps.edu by September 30.

Families are invited to attend two AAP information meetings led by Jessica Stebbins, our Advanced Academic Resource Teacher (AART):

AAP Continuum of Services: September 9th at 5pm in the Woodley Hills Library. Families will learn about the continuum of advanced academic services available to FCPS students.
Full-Time AAP Identification: November 5th at 6pm in the Woodley Hills Library. Families of students in grades 2-6 will learn about the referral and identification processes for Full-Time AAP services.
