Principal's Message

We are excited to welcome our students back to school tomorrow morning. We had a great turnout on Thursday, with students and families from the incoming class of 2030 and our transfer families joining us for opening orientation and open house. Please take a moment to review the information below that will help us successfully kick off the 2026 - 2027 school year. We are looking forward to a wonderful year for the entire Langley School Community.

Day One / Monday

Arrival - Please plan ahead: if you are dropping off your student, leave early. There will be traffic; our campus and surrounding area will be very busy on the first day of school. Please do not use our adjacent neighborhoods to drop off or pick up your students. Please do not use the front of our building (Door #1 Area) to drop off your student; this is one-way and for bus traffic only.

Use our Kiss and Ride route to drop off your students.

Technology - Please review the technology updates with your student. Phones and ALL personal devices are not permitted during our instructional day; please leave them at home.

Detection - Please help your student bring only what they need for the school day. Please leave at home metal objects that are not necessary for their school day. Students will need to remove the items listed below for detection; if possible, find alternatives.

  • Metal lunch boxes or metal food containers
  • Metal pencil cases
  • Metal eyeglass cases

Please Leave Eyelash curlers and mint tins at home.

Class of 2027 (Save the Date!)

Our Graduation Date has been announced

Monday June 7th at 2:00 PM / Constitution Hall (DAR)

Back to School A-Z

You can find all the essential Back-to-School information to help you prepare for August 24th! This information is also linked directly on the Langley High School homepage for your convenience.

Important Technology Updates

FCPS will implement an updated cellphone policy in accordance with Virginia law (SB108).

For high school students, cellphones and other personal smart devices—including smartwatches, earbuds, headphones, smart glasses, and other internet-connected devices—must be off and stored away during the entire school day, including lunch.

Devices should be kept in a backpack, purse, locker, or pouch during the school day.

Students and families are encouraged to review the full policy and learn more about what to expect for the upcoming school year on the FCPS Cellphone Policy. The biggest change for us will be the removal of the lunch period for phone use.

FCPS School Board updates personal device policy! The FCPS Chromebook will be the primary student device and school supply for the 2026 - 2027 school year.

In addition to the updated cellphone policy, the FCPS School Board has approved a new policy prohibiting the use of personal electronic devices during the instructional day, including personal laptops, tablets, smartphones, and smartwatches.

  • Students will use FCPS-issued devices for school-related digital learning.

Students must have their school-issued Chromebook to school each day. The FCPS Chromebooks have everything students need for their work here at Langley. The FCPS Chromebook is the required device for our classrooms.

Students should leave personal devices at home.

School Supplies

When picking up school supplies for the 2026 - 2027 school year, please keep in mind that we will continue with our Open Gate Weapons screening each day. When purchasing organizational items, please purchase Plastic Three-Ring Binders so that students can leave these in their backpacks.

The school-use items listed below are also highly encouraged:

  • Non-Metal Water Bottles
  • Non-Metal Pencil Cases
  • Non-Metal Lunch Boxes
  • Non-Metal Glasses Cases

Bell Schedule

Thank you for your feedback in helping us get to a schedule that works best for our students and staff. With the elimination of our embedded period, we will be on a full block schedule. Here is our bell schedule.

Wellness Screening

Mental health problems can develop in adolescence which is full of emotions for teens. Some of these emotions are actually mental illnesses. Depression is among the most common mental illnesses. Depression is treatable; however, it is a leading risk factor for suicide. To proactively address mental illness, Langley High School is providing a mental wellness screening and suicide prevention training as part of the SOS Signs of Suicide Prevention Program.  Junior and Senior Parents were emailed on Thursday, July 30th with additional information regarding this program.   Freshman and Sophomores parents will receive more information in the coming weeks.
