A Message from the Principal

Greetings Bryant Families!

We are so excited to welcome our students back tomorrow for the first day of the school year!

What an outstanding weekend! Thank you to everyone who made our first-ever Open House and United Community Block Party such a vibrant success. I am deeply grateful to our Bryant staff, the United Community team and volunteers, and all the families who joined us. Take a look at a few highlights from Saturday in the photos above! We are already looking forward to making next year’s event even bigger and better.

As you prepare for tomorrow morning, please keep these important reminders in mind:

• Bus Pick-Up: Please have your student at their bus stop at least 10 minutes before their scheduled pick-up time. Our drivers are still learning their routes, so we appreciate your patience as everyone settles into the routine.
• Bus Routes & Schedules: You can view your child’s assigned bus stop, pick-up time, and full class schedule anytime on ParentVue and StudentVue.

We can’t wait to see everyone in the morning!

Bryant HS Information

Student ID Cards for Bryant High School Bus Riders

We will begin distributing student ID cards to all our students who ride the school bus or use FCPS transportation services. Students will receive their ID Cards tomorrow in our opening assembly.

Students who have student ID cards should begin tapping as they board and exit the bus. Only students who use FCPS transportation services will be provided with a student ID card at this time.

We ask for your patience! Bus drivers will begin checking in students next week and may need some extra time at each bus stop while they do this. The transportation team is working hard to minimize any potential delays.

SEL Screener Parent/Guardian Notification

The Fall Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) Screener will be administered to students in grades 3 through 12 in October. Students use the SEL Screener twice a year to share their perspectives on how well their school and community help them develop skills they need to succeed. The screener works by asking questions or presenting statements that students can think about and respond to. This gives students a way to share how well their school community makes them feel valued, included, and supported.

After each screening, results are available in the Documents tab of SIS ParentVUE and mailed to families without a ParentVUE account. For more information, including SEL Screener questions and opt-out information, please visit the Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) Screener webpage. 

Update Your Child’s Immunizations and Records

Please check with your healthcare provider as soon as possible to make sure your child is up-to-date on the immunizations required by the state of Virginia. Prior to the start of school on Monday, August 24, please submit your child’s immunization documentation. If your child has an appointment to receive their required immunizations after August 24, please submit an Immunization Action Plan to confirm the appointment.

You can check your child’s immunization compliance and submit their immunization record in SIS ParentVUE. Records may also be delivered to a school’s front office. If needed, families may also provide other immunization documentation including a healthcare provider’s written statement of a permanent or temporary medical exemption or a notarized Religious Exemption Form. Please visit the FCPS How to Submit Immunization Documentation webpage for step-by-step instructions on how to submit each of these items.

Immunization Events for FCPS Students

FCPS, in partnership with Inspire Health Alliance, will be providing school-required immunizations and optional flu shots for all FCPS students, ages 18 and under, with no out-of-pocket costs. Multiple events will take place at designated FCPS locations. Additional dates will be made available throughout the school year. Parents or guardians may view upcoming events and schedule an appointment for their student. Participation is voluntary.
