Stream Buffer Reforestation Work at Bon Air Park Begins in SeptemberBeginning in September, Arlington County will convert a grassy area west of the Bon Air Park rose garden into a forested meadow buffer along Four Mile Run. This work will help protect the stream, expand Arlington’s tree canopy and create wildlife habitat. It is part of an ongoing effort to restore natural areas, reduce mowing impacts and cost, and increase environmental benefits. The red rectangle below shows the approximate project area.
What to expect:
This is a multi-season project that will include ongoing care and weed management as the forested meadow becomes established.
