How dangerous are social media algorithms? 

The federal government has unveiled its digital duty of care laws, which will give Australians the choice to opt out of algorithms online.

Under the proposed laws, social media platforms will be required to protect children from harmful content, including that which glorifies crime, pornography and eating disorders. 

Robb Evans pushed for this change after his 15-year-old daughter Liv died in 2023.

ABC news presenter Ishkandar Razak is taking a short break from work as he recovers from Bell's palsy, a condition that causes sudden, temporary weakness or paralysis on one side of the face.
