Please join Bryant staff for a family dinner and Back to School Night. A family style pasta dinner will be served beginning at 6:30 pm. Our program will begin at 7:15 pm. Families will have the opportunity to meet teachers and learn about your child’s classes.

We are thrilled to invite you to our Back-to-School Night & Pasta Dinner this Tuesday, September 15, from 6:30 to 8:30 PM! Join us for a delicious meal, program updates, classroom visits with teachers, and a raffle where one lucky attendee will win a laptop! Thanks to our Title I-A grant, both dinner and transportation are provided free of charge. We can't wait to see you there!
Our students are already making a big impact across the district. This past week, four Bryant High School student leaders represented our school at the Superintendent Student Advisory Council meeting at Woodson High School. Having a seat at the table ensures our students' voices, ideas, and questions help shape their education in FCPS. Look out for updates from these inspiring leaders soon!
Finally, we are seeking two parent or guardian representatives to join the Superintendent’s Family Vision Group. Bryant Parents/Guardians Needed for the Family Vision Group
The Superintendent’s Family Vision Group meets six times in person, all sessions held in the evening, from 6-7:30pm. The Family Vision Group team has divided Fairfax County into four sections, called Quads. You are placed in a Quad based on where your school falls within these sections. Meetings are organized by Quad to ensure accessible locations.
- Tentative Meeting Schedule for 2026–27:All meetings are subject to change in accordance with division-wide priorities and scheduling adjustments as needed.
- Meeting #1- Wednesday, October 21-Location Springfield Estates ES
- Meeting #2- Wednesday, December 9-Location Springfield Estates ES
- Meeting #3- Wednesday, February 24, 2027-Location Springfield Estates ES
- Meeting #4-Wednesday, April 14, 2027- Location Springfield Estates ES
- Full Group Wrap-Up-Wednesday, May 5, 2027- Location TBD
- Representatives are expected to attend all meetings whenever possible.
- Communication is essential—please notify the Family Vision Group Team in advance if you cannot attend a meeting.
- Representatives who accumulate two or more unexcused absences will be replaced during the school year.
- Translation and transportation services are available at all meetings.

Importance of Strong Attendance Habits
September is Attendance Awareness Month. Some of the ways parents can help their children create healthy routines and a habit of getting to school on time every day include:
- Setting a regular bedtime and morning routine. (Need help? Download this checklist in English or Spanish.)
- Laying out clothes and packing backpacks the night before.
- Talking to teachers, school counselors, or other parents for advice on how to make your child feel comfortable and excited about learning, if they seem anxious about going to school.
- Developing back-up plans for getting to school if something comes up. Call on a family member, a neighbor, or another parent.
- Avoiding medical appointments or extended trips when school is in session.

The Importance of the Flu Vaccine
As we look ahead to the upcoming school year, the health and well-being of our students continues to be one of our priorities. Staying up to date with your child's flu vaccination helps:
- Reduce School Absences: Keeping students healthy means more time spent learning and engaging with peers.
- Protect the Community: Vaccination helps shield vulnerable family members and neighbors from seasonal illness.
- Support Overall Wellness: Routine flu shots are a key component of a proactive student health plan.
Upcoming Flu Shot Events
FCPS, in partnership with Inspire Health Alliance, will provide flu shots for all FCPS students, ages 18 and under, at no out-of-pocket cost. Multiple events will take place at designated FCPS locations. Additional dates will be made available throughout the school year. Parents or guardians may view upcoming events and schedule an appointment for their student. Participation is voluntary.
SAT School Day and PSAT/NMSQT Testing Day
SAT School Day and PSAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (NMSQT) exams will be held at each high school on Wednesday, October 7, at no cost to families. The digital SAT School Day exam is offered to 12th grade students, and the digital PSAT/NMSQT exam is provided to 10th and 11th grade students.
Unscheduled Day for 9th Grade Students
Because of the testing, most 9th grade students will not have school on October 7. Students are encouraged to complete any missing work or assignments that need to be completed prior to the end of the first quarter.
Ninth grade students with disabilities who receive low incidence special education services will still receive in-person instruction with a two-hour early release on October 7.

Remember to Complete Permission Forms for School Resources
Families can now easily grant consent for their children to access a variety of school resources through the Parent Digital Consent system. This online tool can be accessed using your SIS ParentVUE account login. Parents can easily opt their child in or out of a variety of resources, including online educational tools, school counseling services, and more.
