TOP STORY |
David's Bridal is betting that 76 years of brand trust can carry it from wedding dresses into a full wedding planning platform called Pearl. |
"If we truly solve for stress, then the financials will come, because we're solving a real customer problem," said Elina Vilk, president and chief business officer at David's Bridal, on
a recent episode of "Reimagining Retail." |
The company has dressed more brides than anyone else on the planet, with 90% of all US brides going through the David'secosystem at some point. Now the retailer is using that trust and deep customer insights to capture more of the 18-month wedding planning journey, a period defined primarily by one emotion: stress. |

IN THE NEWS |
Amazon turns Prime Video scenes into storefront. Shop the Scene links viewing and buying, adding organic commerce value to product placements. |
| |
Walgreens gives in-store ads another try. Working with Looma, the retailer is using digital screens to support shopping rather than interrupt it. |
Store expansion is cooling off. Retailers are opening fewer locations and choosing sites that can drive sales, loyalty, or brand awareness. |

ANALYSIS |
Media companies, tech giants, and retailers could face dramatic shifts if sports viewership declines, Meta loses billions in youth safety lawsuits, or AI transforms every product placement into personalized ad inventory. |
Sports rights spending is on track to hit about $70 billion a year by 2030, and every dollar of it comes out of something else. "The amount that media companies are paying for sports rights continues to climb. It's gonna be about $70 billion a year by 2030, and it's taking away from what they do otherwise," said our analyst Ross Benes on a recent episode of "Behind the Numbers." Three scenarios below look unlikely today. Each would rewrite how these businesses operate. |
