Janet Mae (nee Umbdenstock) Stewart of Phoenix, NY, departed this world on September 14, 2026, at the age of 93. Born in Mundelein, Illinois, to the late Harold and Vivienne Umbdenstock, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Stanley and Kenneth.
She is survived by her husband, Jerome; son, Andrew (Denise) Pavlin; daughters, Roshelle Pavlin and Dr. Julie (Theodore Plasse) Pavlin; stepsons, Kelly (Tana) Stewart and Scott (Margie) Stewart; stepdaughter, Roxanne (Greg) Parsons; sisters, Elaine Teltz and Marilyn Gillies; grandchildren, Michael Stewart, Tasha (Randall) Hagerman, Jowell Randall, Zachary Randall, Matthew Stewart; several great-grandchildren; seven nieces; four nephews, and many friends.
Janet rose to the rank of District Deputy Grand Matron, Order of the Eastern Star (Centerville Chapter 185 and Phelon Chapter 105, NY) and was an active member for over 50 years.
Janet was a well respected administrative assistant at Schopfer Architects in Syracuse, NY, for many years prior to retirement.
In her later years, Janet enjoyed counted cross-stitch, jigsaw puzzles, and reading. Her lovely smile and quick wit will be missed by many.
