Thomas "Tommy" Pigott, SpokesmanOffice of the Spokesman The below is attributable to Spokesman Tommy Pigott: Secretary of State Marco Rubio met today with Bolivian President Rodrigo Paz on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly High-level Week. Secretary Rubio emphasized that Bolivia is a critically important regional partner. The United States welcomes President Paz’s continued efforts to stabilize Bolivia’s economy, including through IMF support, additional multilateral bank funding, and fuel, mining, and energy sector reforms that will strengthen Bolivia’s investment climate. Secretary Rubio and President Paz also discussed regional security cooperation, particularly against narcoterrorists, and support for Bolivia’s continued political stability. Both leaders emphasized the United States and Bolivia will continue working together to deliver concrete results for their people, making both countries safer, stronger, and more prosperous.
