Across Alaska, important stories are unfolding right now.
Stories that take time.
Stories that require trust.
Stories that help Alaskans understand the issues shaping their communities and the state we all call home.
That work doesn't happen by accident. It happens because people choose to invest in it.
As we bring our summer fundraising campaign to a close, we're asking you to make an investment in the Anchorage Daily News and in reporting that keeps Alaska connected, informed and accountable.
Every contribution helps support deeper reporting, more voices and the ability to pursue stories that matter to communities across our state.
We're just $1,000 away from reaching $10,000 in this campaign. Will you help us cross the finish line?
Your support today can help us reach that milestone—and be part of what comes next.
As we move toward the end of the year, we'll be sharing more about philanthropy at the Anchorage Daily News, the ways your support makes our work possible and how you can help invest in the future of news and information for Alaskans.

City to Anchorage’s homeless shelters: It’s finally
time to get licensed
Five years after the Anchorage Assembly passed a law requiring homeless shelters to be licensed, municipal health department officials are moving forward with enforcing the requirement. The city’s goal was to improve
standards and safety for shelter users, collect and share data on clients, ease tensions with neighbors and boost municipal oversight of the facilities. Many operators have complied, but others call the process burdensome and unnecessary.
