Hey a,

One of the most common things that stops producers from finishing and releasing their music has nothing to do with the music itself.

It's that nagging feeling about what happens AFTER everything's done.

Sure, you want your music to be heard.

But at the price of becoming yet another TikTok or Instagram content clown?

Hell no…

It doesn't have to be that way.

Let's go back a few years, to the moment Paul Conrad, who’s one of the mentors inside our Prolific Producer Collective, first reached out to me looking for help on his journey.

All he had was a few unfinished tracks. No repeatable workflow, and definitely no following.

In the back of his head, he'd always had certain ambitions with music.

But going full-time wasn't even imaginable at that point.

So he did exactly what I recommended: take it one step at a time, and focus on what actually matters today, not tomorrow.

Step 1: Learn how to ship creative work consistently

He installed my Creative Funnel workflow (and the other frameworks you get inside my course), and a few months later, he had his first release-ready tracks.

And he released them, knowing full well that nobody would care about them at this point.

The only goal was to get better from one track to the next and make “shipping the work” a habit.

Step 2: Build a brand you actually care about

Once he had some momentum, and finishing high-quality tracks wasn't the biggest blocker anymore, Paul started working on his artist brand.

He asked himself a few really tough questions, like "what values do I want to represent?" and "how do I want my audience to feel whenever I pop up in their feed?"

Instead of copying what works for others, he built something he actually wants to stand for as an artist.

And that makes growing a brand much easier.

Step 3: Find a way of promoting your music that works for you, without burning out

This one is the hardest.

And strangely enough, it's what artists obsess over the most, even if they haven't finished a single track yet.

Once you're confident that your music is good and you know what you stand for, it simply comes down to running small campaigns for every release and trying out what works for you.

Some people refuse to make content but find really good playlists. Others run ads quite successfully to grow their following.

And yes, some artists have found a way to make content that's fun to create and resonates with their audience.

For Paul, it was a mix of these methods.

But even when tactics changed, one thing stayed the same: he never pretended to be someone he wasn't.

Those small, gradual steps added up.

Today, Paul has songs with over 200,000 streams, more than 30,000 monthly listeners, releases on labels he respects like Einmusika, and regular gigs.

He makes music full-time, and he passes on what he learned as a coach and mentor inside our community.

None of that started with a brand or a campaign.

It started with finishing tracks and putting them out when nobody was listening yet.

So if the thought of promoting your music makes you want to close your laptop, and you haven't released much yet: you don't need to figure that part out right now.

Start with step 1.

And when you're ready for steps 2 and 3, that's what the Artist OS workshop (included in both plans) and the weekly Release & Promo call (on Premium) are for.
