The Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) Maternal and Child Health Bureau (MCHB) is pleased to announce over $525,000,000 in fiscal year (FY) 2026 Maternal, Infant, and Early Childhood Home Visiting (MIECHV) Program awards to 56 state and jurisdiction recipients. This investment—the largest in MIECHV Program history—will support states and jurisdictions across the country to expand services, support the home visiting workforce, and advance early childhood systems.
On October 5th, Child Health Day, HRSA Administrator Tom Engels announced the awards at Nationwide Children’s Hospital’s Center for Family Safety and Healing in Columbus, Ohio. He was joined by U.S. Senator Jon Husted and U.S. Representative Mike Carey (OH-15). Through base and matching grants, the FY 2026 awards will help states and jurisdictions continue delivering and expanding voluntary, evidence-based home visiting services that improve maternal and child health, promote healthy child development, and support families during pregnancy and early childhood.
The MIECHV Program reaches families in communities where these services are needed most, including those that are rural, low-income, and at greater risk of poor health outcomes. Programs across the country connect expectant parents and families with young children to trusted professionals who provide information, support, and access to critical health care and community resources.
