| You can ease some of that by steering people toward the work that suits their strengths. And when the stress can't be avoided, talk openly about what each person needs in order to do their best under pressure. |
| Everyone has a limited supply of mental energy. Spending all day working against your natural way of doing things uses it up, and the work suffers. So give your people room to work the way they work best. |

| One person might need to sort their to-do list and set priorities. Another might need a few people to brainstorm with. |
