Every time you do something that makes you more of who you wish to be, you rewire your brain’s circuits to grow closer to who you wish to be.
Do this often enough by stacking more wins on top of more wins and the new way of being becomes habitual (and then automatic). And you become the next greatest version of yourself.
And so Test:
…get up early to exercise when you don’t feel like it and you’ve done a rewire. Keep doing it and the wiring deepens.
…speak your truth when you're scared to speak up and you’ve done a rewire.
…read rather than scroll on a Thursday evening and you’ve done a rewire.
…push your craft past the normal bounds and you’ve done a rewire.
…take a risk when you’ve given up on taking risks and you’ve done a rewire.
…listen better when you feel like talking and you’ve done a rewire.
…stay positive for the future rather than buy into the fear, and you’ve done a rewire.
Every little new step counts. Nothing is a waste. The thousand mile journey does begin with a single step (thank you Lao Tzu).
Shorter message today, yet I thought it was valuable for you.
Very best,
Robin
P.S. If you’d like to live with more “rootedness,” happiness and the sense that you’re being true to yourself, I think you’ll find my new book The Robot and The Gardener: Being Fully Human in an Artificial Age not only useful but especially inspirational (and do we not need more inspiration in this world?). You can order an early copy here.
P.P.S. I’m launching a new platform for entrepreneurs, founders, and everyday people that are longing to experience more of what makes us most human (in work and life). If you’d like to explore Humanitara (and connect with like-minded people) now before the public launch in February, have a look here.
