Hi,
Your bills arrive every month. It’s only natural to want your dividends to do the same.
And there are monthly dividend stocks I like.
Here are three worth a closer look from our monthly dividend stocks research:
- Realty Income (O)
A diversified real estate investment trust with more than 15,500 properties and 32 consecutive years of dividend increases. It currently has a high 6.0% dividend yield and is the standout for quality and longevity in the monthly dividend stock space.
- Dynacor Group (DNGDF)
A Canadian gold-ore processor with seven consecutive years of dividend increases and a projected payout ratio of approximately 24%. It has a 3.3% dividend yield and a Dividend Risk Score of B. Such a safe Dividend Risk Score is very rare for monthly dividend paying stocks. U.S. investors should note that this stock is Canadian, so be mindful of your tax situation.
- Bird Construction (BIRDF)
A Canadian construction and infrastructure-services business with a conservative projected payout ratio of approximately 31% and an A Dividend Risk Score. It does have a far-from-appealing dividend yield of just 1.0%, however. And like Dynacor above, Bird Construction is Canadian, so be mindful of your tax situation.
The three stocks above are among the safest and highest quality monthly dividend payers.
But despite the appeal of getting paid every month, I don’t like most monthly dividend stocks.
A monthly dividend isn’t a quality guarantee
Too many monthly payers have some combination of:
- High payout ratios that leave little room for setbacks
- Heavy debt burdens
- Limited capacity to fund future growth
- Dividends that could come under pressure when business conditions deteriorate
A stock can pay you every month right up until it cuts its dividend.
And a generous yield doesn’t make up for an income stream you can’t depend on.
Many monthly payers are also foreign securities. For U.S. investors, that can introduce foreign withholding taxes and currency fluctuations – additional considerations that deserve attention before buying.
I’d rather own a strong business that pays quarterly than a weak business that pays monthly.
The goal isn’t simply to get paid more often.
It’s to build high-yield income with the potential to keep growing for years.
Look beyond the payment schedule
That’s the focus of the Sure Dividend High Yield Newsletter.
We don’t limit our search to stocks that pay monthly.
We look for attractive combinations of high yield, dividend safety, long-term growth potential, and value – regardless of payment frequency.
To find those opportunities, our team of 13 researchers analyzes more than 900 income securities every quarter.
Then, each month, we identify our 10 best high-yield dividend growth stock ideas.
You get a focused selection backed by fundamental research –not a list sorted by the biggest yield.
And we don’t stop once we recommend a stock.
We continue reviewing past recommendations and provide actionable sell recommendations as needed.
