Student Achievement
Do you know a student, club, or team that has done something amazing? We want to hear about it! We're looking for accomplishments big or small to feature on the school website and in our weekly newsletter. Whether it's an academic achievement, an athletic victory, a creative project, or an act of community service, we want to shine a spotlight on the incredible things happening at McLean. Please fill out our Google Form to submit an accomplishment. To see a full list of student accomplishments, check out the Student Recognitions page on the McLean website.
McLean High School Junior Presents Research at Northeast Robotics Colloquium
McLean High School junior Andy Wu was selected to present his original robotics research at the 2026 Northeast Robotics Colloquium at Princeton University, where he presented alongside university researchers, graduate students, postdoctoral scholars, and robotics professionals. Working with Dr. Jeffrey W. Herrmann at The Catholic University of America, Andy studied how navigation, path planning, and image processing affect CPU and memory use on a Leo Rover. By tracking the rover's computing demands during different tasks, his research explores how autonomous robots can use their limited onboard computing resources more efficiently.
