Message from the President
Hello FHS Community!!
This long weekend did not come a moment too soon! I attended the Principal’s Coffee with Dr. Aye last Friday, it’s one of the many ways to stay on top of what is happening at our school! If you’d like to attend one they are on the second Friday of the month, 7:30 am-8:30 am. It’s early enough that I can attend and head straight to work!

A couple of weeks ago I attended a Meet the Candidates Night for the City of Fairfax Mayor, City Council, and School Board. The event was co-sponsored by the Fairfax County Council of PTAs (FCCPTA) and I met their President, Debbie Kilpatrick. I am thankful for how helpful this organization has been so far and I really appreciate their support of our city!! |
After-School Fundraiser @ FHS
THIS WEEK! Cookie Dippers!! - and More!
Thursday, October 15th, 3:30-4:30pm in the FHS Lobby.
A sweet sale is happening! Bring your friends, enjoy a tasty snack, and support the PTSA. We will be selling Cookie Dippers, Stuffed Smores Cookies as well as cotton candy. Cash or Card is accepted.
We are super excited to host our first after school fundraiser this upcoming, Thursday - October 15th starting at 3:30pm. Please remind your kids to stop by our table in the FHS Front Lobby. Card and cash accepted. We will be offering super sweet deals including:
1) Cookie Dippers
2) Stuffed Smores Cookies
3) Sour Patch Kid Cups
4) Pop Tart Goodies
5) Cotton Candy Buckets
Election Day Fundraiser, Tuesday, Nov. 3 @ Daniel's Run
Spread the word because we are hosting our 2nd fundraiser this year at Daniel's Run Elementary on Election Day, Nov. 3! We plan to serve coffee, hot cocoa, bake sale items as well as grab n' go breakfast, lunch and snack items. In particular, we are looking for yummy bake sale items to appeal to the voters! Additionally, we are looking for adult and student volunteers to help us out. Students can sign-up to earn volunteer hours!
Peer Mentoring Program
Please also consider donating to our Peer Mentoring program. The FHS peer mentoring program where 100 juniors and seniors serve as peer mentors to the incoming 9th grade class during Lion Time! Ms. Sharyn Hunt, peer mentoring program sponsor, has requested candy donations for their program. A special shout-out to Ms. Hunt!

We officially have passed the number of PTSA members we had last year, but we still have a long way to go to hit what we need to fund our budget. Several teachers have already reached out asking us to help with grants. We want to be able to help as much as possible so, please encourage your friends to Join Now! If you have joined and would like to support us further, you can also donate to our No Fuss Fundraiser.
All Night Grad (ANG)
Please consider helping out! ANG Committee and Craft Fair SUG Please mark your calendars, the Craft Fair will be November 21-22 and we will need a LOT of volunteers. Keep an eye out, that SUG will be coming out soon!
All Night Grad Parent Interest Your participation is essential to the success of this event. Please pass this info along to other senior parents. Email ANG@fairfaxPTSA.org if you have any questions.
